Grantmaking
What We Fund
The Mary Black Foundation prioritizes investments that support high-quality early life experiences because research shows that they can significantly impact lifelong health outcomes. We also know it is one of the best ways to improve community-wide health outcomes. The Foundation uses a holistic, multi-generation approach, intentionally investing in both children and the adults who care for them.
Based on input from partners, research, and health data, the Foundation is currently focusing on the following strategies:
Within these strategies, we prioritize initiatives that:
Focus on the earliest years of life, beginning with prenatal.
Tackle the root causes of issues and
create long-lasting change.
Take a holistic and
multi-generation approach.
